Nika’s Salon (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website nikassalon.ca and a hair and nail salon at 591 Erie St E, Windsor, ON N9A 3X8. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and the message you send.
- Appointments: your name, phone number, email, the service you’re booking, and any notes you add (for example, allergies, sensitivities, or how you like your hair).
- Service history: the services you’ve had, colour formulas, products used, and stylist notes so we can give you consistent results on future visits.

3. Who we share it with
We don’t share your personal information except with service providers who help us run the salon and website, and only to the extent they need it:

We’ll only send you promotional messages if you’ve clearly opted in — for example, by checking a box on our booking form or telling us in person. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out of texts by replying STOP or contacting us. Appointment confirmations and reminders are not marketing messages and will still be sent.
5. Photos of your hair and nails
We love showing off our work, and client photos appear on our website portfolio and social media. We will always ask before taking or posting a photo of you or your results. You can say no, and you can change your mind later — if you’d like a photo removed from our website or social channels, email hello@nikassalon.ca and we’ll take it down promptly. Photos will never include your name unless you ask us to tag you.
6. How long we keep it

7. How we protect it

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, theft, or unauthorized access. If a breach ever creates a real risk of harm to you, we’ll notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.
8. Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Ask what we have — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correct it — ask us to fix anything that’s inaccurate
- Withdraw consent — stop marketing messages, or ask us to stop using your information for a particular purpose (note that we may not be able to provide services without some basic information)
- Delete it — ask us to delete your information, subject to records we’re legally required to keep

9. Children
Clients under 18 are welcome with a parent or guardian’s consent. We collect a minor’s information only as needed to provide the service, and we won’t photograph a minor’s results for our portfolio without written permission from a parent or guardian.
10. Links to other sites
Our website may link to social media or other third-party sites. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices — check their policies before sharing information with them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will change, and if the changes are significant we’ll post a notice on our homepage.
